  1. Should you have any reason to dispute the description of any item purchased, you should contact us by e-mail within 7 days of receipt of the goods. The item can then be returned to us, provided that it is returned in the exact condition as sent, for a full, no quibble, refund of the purchase price, or exchanged for another item, which ever is the buyers preference. Refunds will only be given on receipt of items being returned. If an item is not notified to us within this time, it will be considered as being sold. Any refunds made shall be in the form of a Mons Military Antiques business account cheque in Sterling. Mons Military Antiques will not be liable for any currency conversion charges, on overseas buys on returned goods. Items paid for via PayPal and returned will be refunded via PayPal in Sterling. Outward bound and return postage costs are not refundable, should an item be returned for what ever reason. Any expenses charged to Mons on returned items from overseas such as import duties or import VAT by UK customs, and or postal handling charges, are not refundable.
  2. This refund offer does not apply to any goods purchased in error (including errors in translation of the text of this web site to another language), on the behalf of a third party, nor to goods that have been damaged, disassembled or tampered with after purchase.
  3. We supply items for collector's, display purposes only & such items are not intended for actual wear or use. We do not guarantee the fitting of any clothing, footwear or headgear, nor their suitability for being worn.
  4. The responsibility lies with the customer to ensure that any goods ordered are allowed to be imported into your country. If an item has to be returned because it cannot be imported to your country, we can offer other goods to the same value in exchange, less any return postage & import costs incurred by us, but are unable to give a refund.

Item Descriptions.
Mons Military Antiques endeavours to describe items for sale via its web - site as accurately as possible, to include any faults and or defects appertaining to any one given item. With most items listed being of an age (i.e. in excess of 70 years of age in many cases) it is not always possible to give an ‘inch by inch’ text, detailed description. With this in mind, please always feel free to contact via email with specific questions you would wish to address, regarding any item of interest to you. Mons’ will be happy to help with reasonable, additional information required on items still available for sale.

Mons Military Antiques on line shop / web site, since its launch has received, and is receiving an increasing number of information requests as to the price of items not stocked by Mons‘, or opinions sought on items for sale from sources other than Mons’ own web site. I do not; under any circumstances give price opinions or opinions of originality etc. on items for sale from sources other than on my own web site.

Mons Military Antiques is unable to give precise size measurements on garments, hats, boots etc. other than generalizations.

Veteran pick - up.
Items listed with ’Veteran pick - up’ at the end of the description means we have sourced this item direct from a family or veteran, and that the item has never before been offered in the ’market place’.

Making a Purchase.
When making a purchase via our automated check out system, the item(s) you have ordered, will remain listed on the sales page. The price stated on the item will disappear and in the bottom right corner of the item description will appear a RESERVED banner. The reserved banner will stay in place during the payment / despatch period and will be replaced by a SOLD banner a couple days after your item has been posted. This gives the buyer time to receive and appraise the item purchased.

Telephone Orders
Mons Military Antiques is happy to take orders and reserve items by telephone. This can be done with cash and cheque payments only. (Orders requiring Paypal / Credit Card payments have to be carried out via our automated on - line check out system).
Buyer contact details must be supplied with the order, either at the point of order or via email within 24 hours of the order being made, to include an email address, telephone number and first line and post code of a postal address. If no details are given or forwarded, items will not be reserved.

Information Requests
Mons Military Antiques as a commercial organisation is unfortunately not in a position to involve itself with appraisals, valuations and general information requests on items owned by site viewers. The relevant public museum is always our recommended point of information / data, request. Mons’ will however, on an agreed fee basis give verbal and written valuations / appraisals, and for organisations (i.e. TV, Theatre etc.) wishing it, technical advice for productions, on items as long as they fall within our sphere of knowledge. Valuations can and will only be given on physically viewing items and not via photographic images.

Reserved, Sold & Archived Items
Once an item is site listed as reserved or sold, or added to our archive section, no discussion will be entered into by Mons Military Antiques as to further item description (other than can be seen), its price and when and whom it was sold to. This we consider to be confidential information between Mons Military Antiques and our customers / buyers. Should an item for what ever reason become available again for purchase, then any help a potential buyer requires regarding said item will be willingly given.

All buyers have the same chance to view / purchase any item listed, on visiting the site. Regular site visits are recommended, due to our totally random on-going listing policy!

Medal / Badge Grades
The terms gold, silver and bronze refers to medal or badge grades rather than actual metal content, unless otherwise stated. Precious metal, medals or badges will be described as such with any relevant visible markings.

Availability of Goods
This web site is designed to show only items of stock that are still available for sale, but it is still remotely possible that an item could be sold during your visit to the web site. In the unlikely event that an item has been sold by the time that you place your order, we will inform you by return e-mail.

Payment
Mons Military Antiques will reserve an item(s) for five days pending payment !

All payments to be received in British Pounds Sterling (£) only. Payments made in other currencies will carry a bank handling charge (this will be advised once presented to our bankers) and these charges must be paid before any item(s) is sent; or may be refused as a means of payment altogether. Payments should be made by Postal Order, UK Cheque, International Money Order etc, made out to MONS MILITARY ANTIQUES.

Also accepted BANK TRANSFERS. Payments to be made in Sterling only, with all charges to the buyer (charges will be notified at the point of order along with the bank details you will require). Mons Military Antiques relevant bank information will be supplied to all buyers wishing to use this means of payment on request, at the point of order. Items will be held on reserve for five (5) days pending bank transfer.

Paypal charges are automatically calculated when placing an order. The 4% Paypal charge shows up on your order, as 'additional postage'. This is Paypal's (not Mons') way of showing the charge, and is beyond my (Mons') control to show it in any other way / format. If paypal payments (if this is the chosen means of payment) do not accompany an order for what ever reason, the reserved banner will be immediately removed from the item making it available for purchase again.

Cash in an agreed currency is acceptable but as long as its sent via REGISTERED POST, for the senders safety. No responsibility can be accepted by Mons Military Antiques for cash payments should they be lost in transit, irrespective of the mode sent.

Mons' preferred means of payment is in the form of a UK cheque, which is for buyers also the most cost effective means of payment

Delivery Charges
All orders are subject to a delivery and packing charge. The correct charges will be automatically calculated via our shopping basket ordering system and are based on the total weight of your order, your location and our normal / standard postal charge method of dispatch.

Most items will be sent via Royal Mail services to keep postage and packing charges to a minimum. Private postal services may need to be used for items of unusual size or value. This will be determined / agreed (and charged accordingly) with a buyer before an item is sent, via email correspondence.

Quoted postal charges via our automated postal charge system are for STANDARD postal services. I am happy to send items via Recorded or Registered post within the UK and via International Signed For, for overseas buyers on all orders, at customers request and additional charge.

All orders made and processed via our automated postal charge system; with no other contact from the buyer, via telephone or email etc. will be assumed to require STANDARD postal services only. Paypal / credit card purchases will only be dispatched via an insured form of post.

Mons Military Antiques postal despatch days are Tuesday and Friday and where necessary Saturday. (I try my best to despatch all items promptly and be as obliging as is practically possible, regarding all postal matters). All parcels are double checked for the correct item(s) ordered / content, prior to sealing up and dispatch. All orders will have at the very least a UK certificate of posting, proving that Mons Military Antiques have dispatched your order.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for accurate cost effective postal quotes on all types / sizes of orders, either prior to order, or on ordering any item. We pride ourselves in offering cost effective postage, and very well packed items. !! Bespoke postal services, tailored to the buyers own requirements are available on all items, but must take the form of a written (email) request.

With the ‘modern life’ necessity for the protection of personal information of all types, Mons Military Antiques guarantee’s that all incoming mail / correspondence (either electronic or physical) is disposed of in a secure manner on completion of a transaction. Mons’ does not store customer information of any type, that could possibly be accessed by third parties.

Postal Exclusions
Due to a number of problems with payments, from certain African, Middle and Far Eastern countries, and some Eastern European countries, Mons Military Antiques has now to be more selective as to how too deal with purchases from these countries. If wishing to make a purchase, and you are located in any of the area’s listed please email first, for Mons’ payment requirements, and despatch procedure regarding such orders.

Insurance
Mons’ offers a world wide export scheme, (as well as all forms of inland post) and trusts & relies on the various delivery systems used to work properly. It must however be understood that items are sent entirely at the customer's own risk. Mons' will pack all items well to prevent damage, and obtain all relevant despatch documents etc. In the unlikely event of a parcel being lost in transit, Mons Military Antiques will not be liable for such a loss. Insurance, to the limits quoted by the delivery company involved, against loss or damage is included in our quoted / standard delivery prices, but offers only minimal cover. Buyers should satisfy them selves as to the means of despatch required and the level of insurance required on there purchase! (See Delivery Charges)

Mons Military Antiques will be happy to oblige with all postal and insurance requests at the buyers cost. In the unlikely event of postal loss Mons Military Antiques will be happy to supply all the relevant postal documentation needed for the buyer to make the necessary claim themselves, from the postal company used, for any compensation due. (Buyers may be interested in this postal / despatch statistic of ours…… Postal problems of any kind incurred to date:- NIL)

‘Easy’ Payment Plan
Items may be reserved with a 25% deposit and the outstanding balance paid for over a mutually agreed time period. Please ask for details when ordering. No excess charges or interest will be incurred on the order. A minimum purchase price of £350.00 is applicable to qualify for ’Easy Payment’. This is applicable to multi-buy orders as well as single items. Item or items ordered will be held on reserve by Mons Military Antiques until the full agreed payment is made, and then dispatched. ‘Easy’ payment is at the discretion / acceptance of Mons Military Antiques on all orders made.

Once a buyer has committed to an easy payment, and started there payments Mons’ cannot refund any monies sent on items not fully paid for. Other item(s) can be supplied to the value of monies sent only, excluding any postal charges.
‘Easy’ payment once agreed will be subject to the first payment to be received within our 5 day reservation period. If no payment is made in this time period it will be assumed by Mons’ that the item(s) is / are no longer required by the buy; the item(s) will no longer be held on reserve and that any payment agreement made either in writing, email or verbally between Mons’ and the potential buyer will be null and void.

Mons / Client Communication
E-mail is as you know a fast and effective means of communication. Mons’ communicates via email all relevant details appertaining to an order. It is strongly suggested that clients do the same re - their orders / payments to thus avoid misunderstandings, and to make clear to Mons’ any requirements / circumstances that may occur during a transaction.

Slow & Non-Payment of Items Ordered
Slow payment could result in an item(s) being taken off reserve, with the possible loss of the item by the initial buyer! With the advent of a small number of ‘individuals’ ordering items, and for reasons know only to themselves, not paying for said items. Mons’ now operates a ZERO tolerance to such time wasting activities and will strictly adhere to its item reservation policy for 5 days only (5 days being ample time to pay for any item by what ever is the buyers chosen means). This should not be a problem to genuine buyers, and buyers know to Mons‘.
Non-payers; should they make future orders :- Such orders will not be recognised in any way and the item(s) not reserved ! (Non - payer personal details are held on file for future reference, in the event that further attempts are made to make further orders). No correspondence / communication will be entered into with non-payers, for what ever reason!
